Standard description with Plug Socket Tester:

The torque test device of the plug and socket tester is inserted into a fixed socket complying with this standard, and the socket is rotated about a horizontal axis passing through the axis of the live socket contacts, parallel to the mating surface of the socket at a distance of 8 mm behind the mating surface.

The additional torque which has to be applied to the socket-outlet in order to maintain the engagement face in the vertical plane shall not exceed 0.25 N.

This device is use to test the strain force of insertion. A device provided with pins intended to be introduced into fixed socket-outlets shall not impose undue strain on these socket-outlets.
